Philadelphia may not always be the first city people think of for meetings and conventions, but it should be. This vibrant East Coast destination offers an unbeatable mix of history, culture, and food. Run like Rocky through the Italian Market. Step back in time at Independence Hall. And of course, savor one of Philly’s iconic cheesesteaks – “wit” or “witout” – the choice is yours.

Known for its pivotal role in American history, Philadelphia served as a meeting place for the Founding Fathers and the acting capital of the young nation. Both the Declaration of Independence (1776) and the U.S. Constitution (1787) were signed at Independence Hall — just one of more than 60 National Historic Landmarks, alongside icons like the Liberty Bell and Eastern State Penitentiary.
Yet Philadelphia is far more than a city of history. It’s a vibrant center for arts, culture, and science. Beyond the renowned Philadelphia Museum of Art, visitors can explore the Barnes Foundation, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Rodin Museum — home to one of the largest Rodin collections outside France. Public art thrives here too: Philadelphia has more murals than any other U.S. city, and every First Friday, Old City’s galleries open their doors for a lively evening of art and community.
The performing arts scene is equally rich. Walnut Street Theatre is the oldest continuously operating theatre in the country, while the Avenue of the Arts — anchored by the Kimmel Center — pulses with restaurants, nightlife, and live performances. Science lovers can dive into world-class institutions like The Franklin Institute and the Academy of Natural Sciences.
Set in the heart of the Northeast corridor, Philadelphia experiences four distinct seasons. Summers are hot and humid (averaging around 76°F), while spring and fall bring milder weather. Winters cool to an average of about 39°F, giving the city its full range of seasonal charm.
