OLI Blog: EXHIBITORLIVE 2026 New Connections and Old Stories

Last week I was fortunate to attend ExhibitorLive 2026 in Tampa, and what a week it was. While this was the first time exhibiting on the labor side of the business, I came away with that familiar exhaustion that only Exhibitor can provide. Were there late nights? Sure. Was my back on fire from standing in the booth? Perhaps. Did I have an unnecessary cocktail or three? Who’s countin’? Do you want to know what else was there? A thriving, creative, inspirational industry, filled with passionate kooky folks, and a Yeti!

Exhibitor is one of the few times of the year where competitors come together to discuss the state of the industry, workforce data analytics, see the latest and greatest new product designed to alleviate the stress of exhibiting for our customers. Unfortunately, it is also the time of year that we learn of folks retiring, or exiting the industry. I learned of (2) former colleagues that have decided to go tools down, feet up and enjoy relaxing after busting their tails working towards that common goal of show open. Cheers to you J.O. and H.M.

What did I get from Exhibitor 2026? I got energy, a buzz from the opening reception. Insight: Listening to stories how the industry has progressed, how prospecting has morphed over the years, as I sat at a full table that had over 200+ cumulative years of experience in the industry we all love. I had discussions with competitors, prospects, existing customers, and strategic partners. I got big hugs and firm handshakes from people I have admired over the years. I watched wide eyed students explore the exhibit hall. I used to think the best part of this industry was watching a raw piece of concrete turn into a small city in 3 days. After last week I realize that has been misguided. The best part of this industry is hands down the people. This traveling pack of gypsies that cares about nothing else than taking care of their customer. As an industry we have weathered a lot. In this ever-changing world we will continue to face new challenges within our teams, with our customers, and with our personal and professional goals. Based on what I saw, this industry will continue to thrive, pivot, and conform to the needs set forth. One reason and one reason alone.

The people!
